Hattie Marie Farley Lowe, 90 of Pipestem, WV passed away Friday morning January 22, 2016 following a long illness.
Born October 29, 1925 at Pipestem, she was the youngest child and only surviving daughter of the late William Wetzel and Ada Vest Farley.
Hattie was a member of Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem and a founding member of the Faith Promise Mission Quilting Circle where she served as President for many years. She was an excellent seamstress inheriting her talent from her mother. She loved sewing and quilting for other people. Hattie was a homemaker with the welfare of her family her top priority. Hattie treasured her family and friends and received great joy sharing time with her grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Hattie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Edward P. Lowe; seven brothers, Prince, Robert, Claude, Vivian, Nathan, Billy and Earl Farley; twin infant sisters.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include one son, Glenn R. Lowe and wife Sandra of Vinton, VA; one daughter, Peggy A. Gessler and husband Mark of Canonsburg, PA; five grandchildren, Patton Lowe and wife Terri of Clemmons, NC, Preston Lowe and wife Karen of Stafford, VA, Charles W. "Chuck" Rodes, IV of Grove City, PA, Laura DeWoody and husband Doug of Bixby, OK and G.J. Dunn of McMurray, PA; Six great grandchildren, Natalie and Caroline Lowe and Chase, Owen, Samuel and Maggie DeWoody. Also numerous nieces, nephews and friends survive.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be; Patton Lowe, Preston Lowe, G.J. Dunn, Lee Roy Farley, Robert D. Farley and Billy Don Farley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cooks Chapel Faith Promise Mission Fund, PO Box 49, Pipestem, WV 25979.
The family would like to say thank you to the "Special Angels" at Rockin Chair Residential Care facility for the considerate and caring treatment Mom received the last couple years.
