Hazel M. Meador, 76 of Hilldale, WV died Sunday May 23, 2021 at her residence under the care of Hospice of Southern WV after a long illness.

Born January 25, 1945 in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Woodrow and Helen Anderson Harvey.

Ms. Meador was a lifelong resident of Summers County. She retired in 2007 after 35 years as a teacher's assistant at Talcott Elementary School. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Rollynsburg Baptist Church at Talcott.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Rodney E. Meador; infant son, Michael D. Meador; sisters, Clarice Reynold, Linda Lilly and Rebecca Harvey and brother, Jerry Harvey.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra D. Anderson of Hilldale and Teresa A. Ratliff and husband Johnny W. Ratliff; grandchildren, Jessica Conner of Hinton, Melissa Ratliff of Clarksville, TN and Tanya McClung (Thomas) of Hinton; three great grandchildren; sisters, Drema Bostic of White Sulphur Springs, Anna Harvey of Port Clinton, OH and Marsha Basham (Marvin) of Jumping Branch. A very special family friend, Deangela Cranor and her children also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday May 28, 2021 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery at Powleys Creek. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
