Obituary

Helen Frame Jeffries, 99 of Hinton died on the 31 st day of December 2019 at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Hilldale.

She was born July 25, 1920 at Clarksburg, WV, the youngest child of Charles Frame and Grace Wymer Stewart Frame. Her mother died when Helen was seven years old and she was raised by aunts and the Clora Henline household in Orlando, WV.

Helen married Coleman Jeffries of Orlando in 1942 and was the mother of four children who survive; Barbara Parmer (David) of Hinton, Thomas Jeffries (Arlene) of Inwood, WV; John Jeffries (Sharon) of Weston and Charles Jeffries of Weston.

Helen was a beloved grandmother to her five grandchildren: Robert Jeffries of Winchester, VA, John Jeffries, II of Martinsburg, Jason Parmer of Charleston, WV, Kim Burch of Winchester, VA and Wendy Harbaugh of Chambersburg, PA. Fifteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild also survive Helen.

Helen was the last member of her family. Her sisters, Cecil and Wanza and a brother, James predeceased her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coleman in 1998.

Helen was a hard-working farm wife in her early life in Roanoke, West Virginia where she had many friends and neighbors who enjoyed her kindness and thoughtfulness. She retired with her husband Coleman to Hinton in 1993 and made their home with their daughter Barbara. In Hinton, she made may new friends, especially Millie Meador and Wilma Rodes O'Brien, who became very dear and special. She was a member of the Friends of the Library, Business and Professional Women's Club and the Delphi Club. Helen became a member of the Community of Christ Church when she was twelve years of age.

The family wishes to thank her caregiver Lorenda Richmond and the staff of Summers Nursing and Rehab Center for their care in her last years.

The family mourns her passing. A passage from The Book of Proverbs expresses our regard for our matriarch. "Who can find a virtuous woman, for her price is far above rubies?"…She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and the law of kindness is on her tongue. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idelness. Her children rise up and call her blessed…"

At her request, Helen will be cremated and her ashes will be interred beside her husband in the Orlando West Virginia Cemetery.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 18, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with High Priest David Mitchell officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
