Helen F. Richmond, 80 of Freezeland Mountain, died Friday March 23, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.

Born May 25, 1937 in Hinton,  she was the daughter of the late Albert and Rosie Lilly Stoddard. She was of the Baptist faith. She was employed as a cook at several businesses. She enjoyed computer work, but most of the all she was a homemaker, and also enjoyed being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years James C. Richmond in January 2017, Also by two daughters  Drema K. Richmond and Rebecca  Sue Treadway. Two grandchildren, Rex Richmond Jr, and Jenna Leigh Carpenter and two brothers Ernest Stoddard and Albert "Sonny" Stoddard.

Survivors include two sons James C. Richmond Jr and wife Tammy of Lexington TN, John W. Richmond and wife Vickie of Ellison VA. Four daughters, Mary Helen Evans and husband Marvin of White Oak, Barbara Richmond and husband Rex of Freezeland Mountain, Brenda Richmond and husband Bernie of Hinton, and Clara Carpenter and husband John of Ohio. One brother Herbert Stoddard and wife Pam of Ohio. Two sisters, Rosemary Cramer of New Martinsville WV, and Katherine Friend and husband Dave of Ohio. Thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday March 28, 2018 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Canterbury officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Family Cemetery on Sunset Hill near Hinton. Friends may call from 5 to 7, Tuesday at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
