Herman L.
Bryant
Mar 13, 1940 — Nov 19, 2025
Meadow Bridge
Herman L. Bryant, 85, of Sprindale, WV passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Peyton Hospice House.
Born in Blue Sulphur Springs, WV on March 13, 1940, he was the son of the late Jacob Vernie and Cora Littlepage Bryant.
Herman spent many years working at The Greenbrier and Kellwood Manufacturing. After serving for twenty-five years as a reliable presence providing night security at Greenbrier Valley Airport, he retired in 2002. Having a strong work ethic that didn't allow him to stop, he continued to work on his small farm.
Beyond his professional life, his passion was serving the Lord and bluegrass gospel music. A self-taught musician, he found great joy in playing various stringed instruments, all for the glory of God. He loved attending various churches, supporting many different ministries including Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse, as long as his health permitted. In his younger years, he loved camping, fishing and hunting.
Besides his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his four sisters, Lucille Adkins, Margaret Adkins, Anna Cook, and Helen Bryant and one brother, Billy Bryant.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Audrey Midkiff Bryant; daughters, Marie Bryant Propps (Ray) of Ronceverte, WV and Diane Newman (Bill) of Rainelle, WV; son, Aaron Bryant of Ronceverte, WV, brother, Daniel Bryant (Cindy) of Blue Sulphur Springs, WV; grandchildren, Summer Rae Propps, Gage Bryant, and Remington Bryant and many, many loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse Church in Grassy Meadows with Rev. Ray Propps and Pastor George Bryant officiating. Burial will follow at the McElhenney Church Cemetery. A family dinner will follow burial at the Grassy Meadows Church Fellowship Hall.
