Ida Avinger Edwards departed this earth to her heavenly home on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the age of 70.

Born on October 16, 1953 in Miami, Florida, she was the daughter of the late James and Mattie Avinger.

Ida worked for the Lowes Corporation in various locations.  She was an avid and devoted Florida Gators fan.  She loved to cook and bake and enjoyed gardening.  Other hobbies included remodeling houses and sewing.  Reading was another favorite way to spend her time, especially reading her Bible, which she did daily.  Ida was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community.

Besides her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her husband, George Edwards, Jr; one sister, Thelma; one brother, Tommy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her father-in-law, George Edwards, Sr.; children, Valerie, Tracy, Josh, Rebecca (Jamie), and Charles (Casey); grandchildren, Brianna, Anna, David, Tyler, Hunter, Leslie, and Logan; special friends, Dean and Mike; an abundance of nieces and nephews also survive in addition to other family members and her circle of the most treasured friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Charles Drake officiating.  Friends may visit from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Interment will be scheduled later at Fairview Baptist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Hinton Area Foundation/Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
