Jack Herndon Cresong, 77 of Madams Creek, died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday October 31, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley.

Born March 3, 1940 at Lynburn, WV he was the son of the late Clifford and Geraldine Fortner Cresong.

Mr. Cresong was the operator of Wilderness Adventures in Hinton. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church. He was an ordained minister and enjoyed church outreach endeavors. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoying fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bieszka Cresong. One son, Thomas R. Peal, Jr. and wife Crystal of Fayetteville, WV. One daughter, Abby Adkins and husband Greg of Sandstone. Five grandchildren, Logan and Gage Peal, Tyler Wills, Brooklyn Adkins and Haley Peal, along with several nieces and nephews also surviving.

Cremation services have been provided by Pivont Funeral Home and a memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday November 18, 2017 at Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Don Hannah officiating.
