Jackie Lee "Jack" Hartwell, of Hinton, WV, went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2022 at the age of 67, following a hard-fought battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Jackie was born November 12, 1954 in Hinton.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 49 years, Patricia Ann Hartwell of Hinton, WV; son Eric (Sherri) Hartwell and grandson Abel Leland Hartwell of Sylva, NC; son Jarod Hartwell of Hinton, WV; and countless family members, friends, and loved ones.

Jack was a 1972 graduate of Hinton High School. He worked diligently all of his life to provide for his family. The thing he enjoyed most was spending time with those he cared about. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Emmaus Sunday School class.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at First Baptist Church in Hinton, with Pastors Chris Campbell and Josh Cox officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-1:00. He made the decision to donate his body to the Osteopathic School of Medicine, which is a compassionate and selfless act that will benefit medical education and research.
