James Harold
Cline
Dec 24, 1940 — Jun 27, 2026
James Harold Cline, 85, of Wayside, WV, formally of Baisden WV, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 27th, 2026.
Harold was a Retired Coal Miner, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and was affectionally known as "Popi" to all his family and friends.
In his younger years, he enjoyed boating, camping, and fishing, but above all, he took great pride in working hard to provide for his family. He managed and owned several coal companies throughout southern West Virginia, building a life rooted in dedication and perseverance.
In retirement, his greatest joy was watching his family make lasting memories on his beloved farm. He loved attending cattle markets and bringing home new cattle to raise, and he found deep satisfaction in working his land and tending his garden. The farm wasn’t just where he lived. It was where his heart was.
Harold was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.
He was proceeded in death by his father and mother, James and Fannie Cline, two sons, Harold and Darrell Cline, three brothers, Rayburn Cline, Wetzel Cline, Jack Cline, one sister, Bernice Collins and a special son-in-law, Kevin Cline.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Beverly Cline, Della Cline-Gentile, Lora Grimmett, and Natalie Salmon; his seven grandchildren, Sheila Cline, Andrea Cline, Dominic Gentile IV, Holly Grimmett, Hunter Salmon, Emily Perry and Violet Salmon; and his two great-grandchildren, Quenton Cline and Davie Nesbit. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Janet Cline; a special son-in-law, Haskel Salmon III; and many special friends, including Dave Nesbit, Dennis and Bonnie Galford, Faye Mann and family, Brenja Doane, Paul Matney, and Roman Hostetler and family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
