James Robert "Lewis " Meadows, 54 of Ironton, OH formerly of Hinton passed away Thursday Sept. 12, 2019 at Huntington Hospice following a long illness.

Born June 6, 1965 in Charleston, WV he was the son of the late Jerry Lewis Meadows and Martha Adams Meadows Maddy.

Lewis was a 1983 graduate of Hinton High School and attended Concord College. He was a former manager for Domino's Pizza in Roanoke, VA and also formerly employed by Cantrell Rafting as a guide in Hinton. Prior to his illness, he was employed by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Lewis was an avid sports fan and had quite a collection of music that he listened to and shared with others. He had a love of butterflies which led him to collect butterfly art and ornaments.  He even developed a personal 'butterfly story" that he often shared with new friends and acquaintances.  Since becoming disabled, he especially enjoyed his many Facebook friends that he shared experiences, jokes, birthday wishes, and memories with.

Survivors include a son, James "R.L." Meadows of Hinton and one daughter, Teresa Carroll Meadows of Martinsville, VA. Two sisters, Nancy Hanlon and husband Andy and Margaret Barbour and husband Russ, both of Huntington, WV. A brother, John Maddy and wife Katie of Lexington, KY. His step-father, Phillip Morris Maddy of Nimitz, WV.  Two grandchildren, Ryan Bailey and Ahla Meadows, and 6 nieces and nephews also survive.  Many friends and staff at Arbors, Rivers Bend Health Care, and Harbor Health Care facilities in Ohio.

Services to celebrate the life of Lewis will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday September 14, 2019 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until time of services. Interment will be at a later date in Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz.
