Jane Eleanor Gibbons, 75, passed away on January 3, 2017 surrounded by her family at her home in Land O Lakes, Florida. Jane was born in Hinton, West Virginia on October 5, 1941. She is survived by her husband, William Stewart Gibbons of Land O Lakes, FL, mother, Dorothy Westmoreland, Hinton, WV, daughter Teresa Lynne Gibbons, Austin, TX, son Michael Stewart Gibbons (Earlene), Raleigh, NC, daughter Traci Jane Webb, Raleigh, NC, son Timothy Douglas Gibbons (Cheryl), Las Vegas, NV, Roy Naccour (Shareen), Land O Lakes, FL, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many loving friends. Jane was preceded in death by her father, Homer Bryant Westmoreland, father in-law, Col. William L. Gibbons, mother in-law Paula Gibbons, sons Anthony Bryant and William Stewart, Jr., and grandchildren Blake Wilson and Abbey Hardison.

Jane attended St. Clements Episcopal Church in Tampa, FL and was raised in Central Baptist Church in Hinton, WV.  Her family, friends and the kids of CASA were most import to her.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocate, is a not for profit, volunteer based, national organization 100% focused on a child's best interests regarding legal family matters before the courts.

Jane was an active CASA volunteer for many years, beginning in 1983 while living in Houston, TX. Jane continued to follow her passion for helping children during the five years she lived in Las Vegas. During that time, she was recognized as CASA Volunteer of the Year. In addition, she held the office of Chairman of the CASA Foundation in Las Vegas. Even after moving to Tampa, Jane continued follow and support the Las Vegas CASA Foundation.

Jane was an avid bridge player, played Words with Friends with people all over the country and traveled all over the world.

Visitation in Land O Lakes, Florida will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Loyless Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the St. Clements Episcopal Church in Tampa, Florida at 10:00 am on January 6, 2017.

Visitation in Hinton, West Virginia on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 4:00p to 6:00p at the Pivont Funeral Home. The funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00 am at the Central Baptist Church, with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating, followed by interment at the Greenbrier Cemetery in Hinton, West Virginia.
