Janice Ruth Breen, 84, of Hinton, passed away Sunday October 2, 2022 at the home of her daughter in North Carolina following a short illness.

Born August 30, 1938 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Alan Augustus and Ruby Gilpin Deeds.

Ms. Breen was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and flower gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Janice was of the Baptist faith.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Breen in 2013; daughter, Peggy Janney, granddaughter, Beth Tompkins, a sister Sarah Mooney and son-in-law, Jack Richmond.

Left to cherish her memory are one son, Jason Breen & wife Lisa of Hinton; four daughters, Carolyn Keaton of Hinton, Debbie Lilly & husband Cline of Lewisburg, Nancy Richmond of Beckley and Lisa Bridges of Bessemer City, NC; son-in-law, Brian Janney of Beckley; two brothers, Robert Deeds & wife Barbara of Athens, WV and Richard Deeds & wife Phyllis of Thorpe, WV; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 1 expectant great, great grandchild; a special niece, Donna Sparks of Russell, KY

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday October 9, 2022 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Bobby Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Breen Cemetery near Hinton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
