Jearldine M. Buckland, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 8, 2025 in Wayside, WV.

Born in Hix, WV on September 24, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Noah Benjamin and Clara Frances Brown Richmond.

Jearldine dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. During her younger years, she attended Hinton Gospel Tabernacle and Big Creek Baptist Church. She was the heart of her home, known for her unconditional love, her comforting presence, and her tireless devotion to her family.  She found joy in reading but her greatest pleasure came from spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Buckland; four brothers, Willard, Everett, Ernest Richmond, Eldridge "Shorty" Richmond; two sisters, Evelyn Sears and Lorene Adkins; son-in-law, William "Bill" Deaver.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, William Stanley (Suzy) of Oceana, WV; daughters, Ruth Carol Buckland Burdette (Jarrell Lee) of Crows, VA and Vickie Deaver, with whom she made her home; six grandchildren, Christopher Mark Burdette (Kahla) of Greenville, SC, Rebekah Gwen Hampton (Ralph) of Creedmoor, NC, Erica Lee Spangler (Gary) of Rincon, GA, Jessica Caitlin Deaver (Louise) of Salem, OR, Courtney Nicole Hall (Aaron) of Rural Retreat and Courtney Blankenship (David); seven great-grandchildren,  Brody Burdette, Maddox Burdette, Kennen Flowers, Taylor Wiseman, Justin Lindquist, Cheyenne Osborne and Xander Osborne; two great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 3:30 pm on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the Valley View Cemetery at Powleys Creek with Pastor Nathan Smith officiating.   Friends may visit from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
