Jeremy David Carpenter, age 44, of Hinton, WV, passed away from recent health issues on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Born on May 15, 1979 in Reading, PA, he was the son of Douglas Carpenter of Newton, IA and the late Kathleen Fisher Carpenter.

Jeremy was self-employed and operated Dragon's Taxi and Delivery Service in Hinton.  He attended Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch. He enjoyed listening to music, exploring the surrounding area, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Fisher Carpenter; brother-in-law, Dwayne Godbey; niece, Breanna "Bre" Godbey.

Those left to cherish his memory include his father, Douglas Carpenter of Newton, IA; his beloved life partner of 12 years, Cecelia Fox of Hinton, WV; son, Michael Swanson of Newton, IA; mother-in-law, Elaine Godbey of Hinton; sisters-in-law, Greta Brown of Jumping Branch, Reba Godbey of Greenback, TN, and Bonnie Ward (David) of Hilldale; brother, Shane Carpenter of Urbandale, IA; sisters, Keri Carpenter of Coralville, IA, Lindsey Samson of Baxter, IA, and Melissa Carroll of Arizona; several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Devin Brown of Hinton; close friends, Don and Jean Addington of Jumping Branch; grandfather of the heart, Curtis Gore of Hilldale, canine companion, Dragon.

Services to celebrate Jeremy's life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday March 16th, 2024 at Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
