Jewel Linkenhoker Brinegar, 87 of Hinton, passed away at 8:00 p.m. Thursday February 21 ^st , 2019 at Beckley A.R.H. Hospital.

Jewel was born April 9 ^th , 1931 in Hinton, the daughter of the late Sam R. and Mary Lena Bonds Coleman.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. "Bill" Linkenhoker (married 24 years) and second husband Curtis Brinegar (married 10 years), two brothers, Bob and Luther Coleman and five sisters, Mary Adkins, Ann Cales, Helen Fox, Margaret Jistler and Betty Hill.

Jewel is survived by one son, Sam Linkenhoker and wife Ellen of Blacksburg, VA and a daughter, Lena J. Rushford of Hinton. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Bill (Kelly) Linkenhoker of Blacksburg, VA, Gina Linkenhoker Friese of Mechanicsville, VA and Joy Linkenhoker Nosenzo (Jeff) of Blacksburg, VA. Six great grandchildren and two sisters, Donna Bragg of Hinton and Carol Bragg of Cleveland, OH also survive.

Jewel retired from Summers County A.R.H. Hospital where she worked 19 years as a cook.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday February 28 ^th , 2019 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Roy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
