Jimmy Franklin Romanello, Sr., 69 of Powley's Creek, passed away Thursday January 30, 2020 at his home following a long illness.

Born August 23, 1950 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Gene Clayton and Dorothy Mae Meadows Romanello.

Jimmy was a retired construction worker from Local 453 in Beckley, West Virginia. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of River Valley Baptist Church at Forest Hill. Jimmy was an avid horseman, enjoyed gardening and most of all loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong resident of Summers County.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Felicity Romanello; one brother, Charles Romanello and one sister, Nellie Blackburn.

Survivors include two sons: Jimmy Romanello, Jr. and wife Michelle of True and Joey Romanello and companion Chastity Ratliff of Madams Creek; Jimmy's companion,  Sheila Adkins; one brother, Johnny Romanello of Sebree, KY; three sisters, Margaret Frye of Elkton, MD, Theda Harris and husband Daniel of Hinton and Ella Pauley and husband Mark of Doswell, VA; four grandchildren, Rochelle Romanello, Hannah Adkins, Joseph Romanello, Jr. and Jeremiah Romanello; one great granddaughter, Isabelle Morey and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday February 2, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Nathan Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Romanello Cemetery at Upland, WV. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until service time of Sunday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
