Obituary

Joan Gaye Pack Hill, 82, widow of the late LeRoy Hill, went to be with her Savior Sunday, January 19, 2020.

Born May 15, 1937 in Hinton, WV, she was a daughter of the late William Shirley Pack and Norene Walthall Pack.

Mrs. Hill was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where she served faithfully for 20 years. She was a gifted teacher who taught students of all ages from preschool to college. When she spoke of her grandchildren and students she often quoted III John 4, "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." She exemplified that truth as she walked closely with her Savior and loved others well.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Weier and her husband Gary of Greenville; four grandchildren, Laura Beth Albert and her husband Michael, Emily Bruce and her husband Stephen, John Andrew Weier, and Ella Weier; a sister, Wanda Davis and her husband Gene; and two brothers, William Pack, Jr. and his wife Anne, Stephen Pack and his wife Rita. Two special first cousins, Martha Morgan and Jane Turner.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Morningside Baptist Church in Greenville. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Morningside Baptist Church. The service will be webcast from the Morningside Baptist Church website (morningside.org). Graveside services and burial will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 23, 2020 in Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton, WV with her son-in-law, Gary Weier officiating. A procession will depart from Pivont Funeral Home at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday for those wishing to attend the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be; Greg Vandall, Ron and David Pack, Stephen Bruce, Michael Albert, Andrew Weier, Dan Shell and Danny Steeves.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Piedmont Women's Center, 1143 Grove Road Greenville, SC 29605.
