John Keith Bowling, 67 of Madams Creek, Hinton passed away Wednesday November 13, 2024 at home with his loving family by his side following a short illness.
Born February 14, 1957 in Hinton, a son of the late Charles Jasper and Virginia N. Lively Bowling.
Keith was a 1975 graduate of Hinton High School. Following high school he started his career as a heavy equipment operator with local #132 working on various projects throughout the state. He attended Bluefield State University and fulfilled a lifelong dream to become a funeral director by graduating from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Keith was employed as a funeral director at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Rainelle, Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton, Blue Ridge Funeral Home in Beckley and Melton Mortuary in Beckley. His commitment to serving others in time of need was his true calling and the dedication he exhibited will be remembered in the communities he served. Keith loved the outdoors and enjoyed farming, but his greatest love was family, especially his children and grandchildren. Keith was a member of Pluto Community Church at Pluto, WV. His favorite verse was Romans 6:3-4.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Ronald Bowling and a brother-in-law, Roger "Cap" Neely.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley Wills Bowling; one daughter, Anganita Meadows and husband Michael of Hinton; two sons, Joshua Bowling and wife Amy and Joseph Bowling, both of Hinton; two sisters, Sandra Neely of Lewisburg, WV and Brenda Webb and husband Dempsey of Pipestem, WV; nine grandchildren, one great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews also survive.
A private funeral service will be held for family at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors David Williams and Glen Kuhn officiating.
