John A. Bridges, age 85, died at Maples Nursing Home on Saturday, September 23, 2023.  He was born on July 7, 1938 in Elgood, WV to the late William and Effie McBride Bridges.

John graduated from Greenville High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War and continued to proudly remain in the U.S.  Army for 20 years.

John was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

He is survived by his two sons, Greg and Randy Bridges of Marie, WV; brother Don Bridges and wife Nancy of Creamery, WV; sisters Anna Adkins and Pansy Bridges, both of Marie, Margaret Dean and husband Vernon of Georgia, and Dottie Hunt of Nimitz.

Cremation services have been provided by Pivont Funeral Home. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
