Kathryn Joan Smith, 76 of Hilldale, passed away Saturday November 10, 2018 at her home following a long illness.
Born March 21, 1942 in Fairmont, WV she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Virginia Haney Freeman.
Mrs. Smith most recently resided in West Virginia, and also was a former resident of New York, Maryland and California. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles and crafts, but mostly spending time with her beloved family. She was a Protestant and was a member of Calvary Chapel in Costa Mesa, CA.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Rissler and also 4 infant children, and one brother, Keith Freeman.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy A. Smith, Sr. of Princeton; two sisters, Sue Clemmons and husband Wayne of Prescott, AZ and Judy Ashby and husband Tom of Hedgesville, WV; two step-sons, Jimmy A. Smith, Jr. and wife Robin of Zion Mountain and John Smith of Bluefield, WV. One son, James Rissler of Elizabethtown, NY; Grandchildren, Victoria L. Allen and husband Nathan, with whom she made her home, Amanda S. Reidhead, Wendy Caldwell, Michael, Chelsea and Candace Rissler, Shelby Smith, Erik Smith and wife Hannah, Craig Vinciguerra and wife Loretta and Justin Vinciguerra. Great grandchildren, Grady Allen and Lyllian Allen, Hannah and Erick Reidhead, Madelynne and Sage Smith and Scarlett, Dillon and Austin Vinciguerra. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services and committal will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday November 17, 2018 at Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz with Pastor Mike McCoy officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton. Immediately following the committal, a reception for family and friends will be held at the Jumping Branch Gospel Tabernacle.
Pallbearers will be; Nathan, Jim and Grady Allen and Billy Budzenski.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations toward funeral costs be made to Pivont Funeral Home, 100 Park Ave. Hinton, WV
