Kathy Lee (Vandall) Fox, 61 passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at Bowers Hospice House, in Beckley, West Virginia after a two and a half year battle with colon cancer.
Born in Hinton, WV on June 1, 1964, she was the daughter of Libby Ayers of Sandstone and the late Charles E. Vandall.
Kathy graduated from Hinton High School in 1982 and was a member of the Lady Bobcats basketball team. She and her husband have operated Fox Photographics for 44 years. During that time, she photographed thousands of students in West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee, following many of them from preschool to their high school graduation. She would also end up photographing some of their children and grandchildren. Often times she would meet people at a restaurant or the grocery store and be reminded that she had taken their school pictures. Over the years she also helped photograph numerous little leagues and sporting events throughout West Virginia.
Besides her father, she was proceeded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Gladys Fox and her brother-in-law, Farrell Adkins.
In addition to her mother Libby Ayers, she is survived by her husband of 44 years, Larry D. Fox. Other survivors include her brothers, Charles W. Vandall and his wife Sharon of Jumping Branch and Joe Lester of Sandstone and her sister-in-law Susie Adkins of McLeansville, NC. Nephews Dr. Farrell C. Adkins and his wife Dr. Stacie L. Adkins of Roanoke, VA and Nicholas Erin Adkins of Apollo Beach, FL. Nieces Samantha and Shannen Vandall of Hazelbrook, New South Wales, Australia. Great nephews Aiden and Tyler Adkins and Great Niece Adeline Adkins of Roanoke, VA, along with a host of step nephews and nieces.
She will also be missed by employees and former employees of Fox Photographics and the many teachers, principals and coaches that she met over the years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Pivont Funeral Home in Hinton, WV, with Pastor Tim Spencer officiating. Entombment will follow at the Greenbrier Burial Park Mausoleum, 161 Wiggins Crossing, Hinton, WV. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until time of service on Wednesday.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to recognize the nursing staff of Bowers Hospice House for the wonderful care they provided to Kathy and the kindness they extended to her family.
