Kevin Myrl Adkins, 42 of Hinton passed away Friday March 10, 2023 from injuries sustained in an auto accident.

He was born June 2, 1980 in Hinton, the son of Vincent H. and Wanda Ellen Wheeler Adkins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Myrl Wheeler and paternal grandparents, Erie and Irene Adkins.

A 1999 graduate of Summers County High School, Kevin enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all spending time with his boys. He was employed by Alpha Metallurgical Resources of Bluefield as a machinist.

Besides his parents, those left to treasure his memory are sons, Brycen, Preston and Hunter all of Ballard, WV; brother, Christopher Vincent Adkins (Leighette) of Lincolnton, NC; maternal grandmother, Lois Wheeler of Hix and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, along with his beloved dog, Ricco also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday March 15, 2023 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Upland Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Brad, Josh and Anthony Adkins, Jeremy Howell, Jacob Mutter and John Bouer.
