Lilly Alice Ambrose went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the age of 87.

Born on February 9, 1937 in Bluefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late Arnold Pennington and Nellie Ford Hulsey.

Lilly was a custodian for Baltimore County in Maryland and worked in housekeeping for the motel industry.  She was also employed as a nursing assistant while living in Hereford, MD.  She attended River of Life Church of God and appreciated her church family.  Lilly enjoyed spending some of her spare time reading and working on puzzle books.  She loved being with her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Besides her mother and father, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Deacon Shanklin Hawks and William Harlow Hawks; three sisters, Thelma Ann Hawks, Minnie Faye Hawks, and Lela Mae Brown.

Those left to cherish her precious memory include her brothers, George A. Hawks of Warm Springs, VA and John C. Hawks and wife Kay of Clover, SC; sisters, Wilma L. Grimmett of Jumping Branch, WV, and Nancy Bridges and husband Don of Wayside, WV. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton, WV with Don Bridges officiating.   A visitation will be from 11:45 am until 12:45 pm on Friday at Pivont Funeral Home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
