Obituary

Linda Kay Grant, 59 of 410 Nelson Street Hinton, died at 12:35 p.m. Saturday January 14, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.

Born July 22, 1957 at Jumping Branch, she was the daughter of Norma Mitchell Dunford of Tug Creek and the late James Lee Dunford.

Linda was a 1975 graduate of Hinton High School and was a former switchboard operator at Summers County Hospital in Hinton. She then completed the L.P.N. program, and worked in that field in Princeton for several years. She attended Bellepoint Baptist Church and enjoyed playing music. Linda was an inspiration to all who knew her and will be missed by her family and friends.

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Joshua Bryan Grant in 1996 and also by a brother, Lloyd Dunford.

Besides her mother, survivors include three sisters, Shirley Harvey of Hinton, Barbara Lilly and husband Dennis of True and Thelma Grimmett of Tug Creek; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday January 19, 2017 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Bobby Cales officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Cemetery at Shady Spring. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Kenny Grimmett, Jerry Grant, Dennis Lilly, B.J. Bragg, Brandon Trzicak and Jamie Fox.
