Madelynne Anette Woods, 101 of Hinton died Saturday December 17, 2016 at Summers County A.R.H. Hospital in Hinton following an extended illness.

Born July 8, 1915 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Cora Mae Bailey.

Ms. Woods was a homemaker, a member of the former Camon Baptist Church in Hinton and was a lifelong resident of Hinton. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Duck" Woods; four children, Letheia Marie Lewis, Everett H. Thurston, William F. Woods and Richard A. Woods.

Survivors include nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday December 22, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Rev. Matthew Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in Esquire Cemetery in Hinton. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
