Margaret "Poochie" Lilly was born in Hinton, West Virginia on December 4 th , 1939 to Everette "Chinny" Lilly and Ruby Lilly.
She grew up in Avis and graduated from Hinton High School in 1957. She left Hinton to pursue a degree in nursing and became a nurse in 1959. In 1964 she married Hinton native Ed Yancey and together they had one son John Yancey.
For most of the next 50 years, Margaret was a RN and specialized in geriatric nursing. On the evening of May 7 th , Margaret passed away following a significant stroke. She is survived by her younger brother, Ed Lilly and his daughter Kaylee, her son, John Yancey, her daughter-in-law Michelle Yancey and her grandchildren, Roman and Sarah Yancey.
Instead of flowers the family asks that you consider making a donation to your local hospice facility. They were amazingly supportive during Margaret's final days and her family is so appreciative of the care that they provided. On Saturday, May 16 th , we will gather in Hinton to remember a life well lived. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Pivont Funeral Home before departure to Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton for a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ronnie Cob officiating.
A life of service and a life of love. Regardless of if you are gathered by her side that day or you just take a minute to remember her during that day, please know that your love and support are incredibly comforting during this difficult time.
