Marvin William Boone, Jr. "Junior", 58 of Tug Creek, passed away Wednesday May 6, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a short illness.
Born May 1, 1962 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Marvin William Boone and Goldie Sears Boone Martin.
Junior was employed at Pipestem State Park for 10 years before starting a new journey with Townsend Tree Service. He was well known for his contagious smile and his silliness and will forever be remembered as always having a smile on his face. He loved deer hunting and hunting for mushrooms and was full of life and of himself at times. Everyone loved him. Junior was a devoted and loving father, papaw, friend and employee. His grandchildren were his whole world and he loved them and his children dearly. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them.
Junior was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Boone and his mother, Goldie Sears Boone Martin and stepfather, Billy Martin.
Left to cherish his memory are this three children; Charles Boone and wife Stacey of Daniels, Heather Bragg and husband Shawn of Pipestem and Gregory "Greg" Boone and wife Ashley of Tug Creek; five grandchildren, Jason and Garrett Meador, Karter Bragg, Bentley Minesky and Aubrey Boone, and one special little boy whom he thought of as a grandson, Little Jackie Daniel; two brothers, Jimmy Gill and wife Cindy of Ballard and Ray Boone and wife Penny of Hinton; two sisters, Kay Adkins and Shirley Ward, both of Princeton. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
A special thank you to the staff of Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV for their loving care and support during his final days. Also the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude to Pivont Funeral Home for being very accommodating during this difficult time.
Junior's wishes were to be cremated. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday May 16, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Ron Iddings officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Sears Family Cemetery at Tug Creek at a later date with a public memorial celebration to be held at that time.
