Obituary

Marvin Ray Tipton, 93, formerly of Bass Lake Park, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday January 3, 2018 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea. Marvin spent the last 7 years of his life at The Brier in Ronceverte, WV where he made many friends.

He was born May 26, 1924 at Slab Fork, WV, a son of the late Charles E. and Goldie Sturgill Tipton.

He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends at Bass Lake Park at Brooks.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Carl, Jimmy and C.H. Homer Tipton. Four sisters, Garnet Martin, Lula Cox, Lois Harmon and Betty Bell.

Left to cherish his memory is on sister, Shirley McBride and husband Ray of Loveland, OH. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday January 8, 2018 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Larry Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Hot Coal Cemetery at Sophia, WV. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home.
