Mary Lou Bolling, 81 of Nimitz, WV passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Greystone in Beaver, WV.

She was born on October 27, 1941, in Hinton, WV to the late Ralph and Olive Hawley Johnson.

Mary was a 1959 graduate of Hinton High School and a lifelong resident of Summers County.  Ms. Bolling was a former teacher's aide at Jumping Branch Elementary school.  She also served as a medical receptionist for Dr. Isterabadi in Hinton, was a former clerk for CSX Transportation Corp., and a Procurement Officer for the Mine Health and Safety Administration in Beckley, WV. After her short employment at MSA, she worked for and retired from the USDA Forestry Products Science Lab in Athens, WV.  Mary was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hinton.  She enjoyed painting and flower gardening.  It was obvious she had a "green thumb".  Spending time with her family was her greatest love.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Bolling and a sister, Sandra Canterbury.

Survivors include her three sons, Tim Bolling and wife Stephanie of Jumping Branch, Mike Bolling and wife Sandra of Nimitz, and Mark Bolling and fiancé Christy Holstein of Shady Spring; one sister, Margaret Burdette and husband Ferrell of Hinton; special niece, Shelly Burdette of Charleston; four grandchildren,  Nicole Shepherd and husband Andrew of Hinton, Amanda Ballengee and husband Sam of Nimitz, Zack Bolling and wife Jessica of Jumping Branch, and Kasey Lineberg and husband Ethan of New Athens, OH; four great-grandchildren and special caregivers, Carol Bishop and Sheri Sims.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, WV with Pastor John Sauvage officiating.   The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at the Fox Cemetery at Brooks.

Pallbearers will be Herman Pack, Tim Bolling, Mark Bolling, Bobby Ronat, Wayne Bolen, and Thomas Sea.  Honorary pallbearers will be Ferrell Burdette and Andrew Shepherd.
