Mary Josephine "Jo" Lilly Hatcher, 85 of Jumping Branch, passed away Thursday October 20, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown following a short illness.

Born November 27, 1936 in Jumping Branch, she was the daughter of the late Leslie R. and Mary E. Lilly.

Mrs. Hatcher was a 1955 graduate of Hinton High School and was a retired school bus driver from the Prince George County Virginia school system after 25 years of service. She loved flowers and being outdoors and especially loved her family. Jo was a member of Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church at Nimitz, WV.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Lilly and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Hatcher.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, William J. Hatcher; one son, Scott Hatcher of Prince George, VA; one daughter, Sherri Hatcher Smith and husband Bruce of Prince George, VA; four brothers, Arthur Lilly and wife Mary Ann of Columbus, OH, Richard Lilly and wife Joyce of Covington, VA, Dewey Lilly and wife Linda of Prince George, VA and Zina Lilly and wife Lou of Jumping Branch; sister-in-law, Betty Jervis of Jumping Branch; five grandchildren, Matt Fleshman and wife Cindy, Mark Fleshman and wife Leigh, Hunter Hatcher, Austin Smith and wife Emily and Colton Smith; six great grandchildren, Pierson, Caroline, Bryson, Auggie and Grayson Fleshman and Hayes Smith. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends also survive.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday October 25, 2022 at Nimitz Missionary Baptist Church at Nimitz, WV with Pastor Don Hannah officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Cemetery at Jumping Branch. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the church.

Grandsons, Austin and Colton Smith, Hunter Hatcher, Matt and Mark Fleshman and family friend, Zach Bowling will serve as pallbearers.
