Mary Margaret Martin, 96 of Hinton passed away peacefully Monday, October 26, 2026 at Summers Nursing Center at Hilldale following a short illness.

Margaret was born April 23, 1930 in Hinton, a daughter of the late Amos F. and Vida Mae Martin.

Margaret was a lifelong resident of Hinton and enjoyed going to the Hinton Senior Citizens Center and watching television. She was of the Holiness faith and was friendly to everyone she met. She especially loved spending time with her brothers and sisters.

Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by six sisters, Effie Rhinehart, Marie Trout, Daisy Tate, Ruby Steers, Delphie Meadows and Virginia Martin; two brothers, Everett Martin and Billy Junior Martin; former companion, Doug Bowles.

Left to cherish her memory include a brother, Jessie Martin of Connecticut and a sister, Della Ayers of Hinton. Numerous nieces and nephews and close friend and former caregiver, Tim O’Farrell of Hinton also survive.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2026 at Hilltop Cemetery near Hinton with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Friday at Pivont Funeral Home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
