Mary Kathryn Palmer of Pence Springs, WV went home to Jesus on Friday, January 24, 2025 at age 75.
Born in Hinton, WV on January 18, 1950, she was the daughter of the late James K. and Carrie Jo Buckland Williams.
Mary was a 1967 graduate of Hinton High School. In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mary also loved doing crossword puzzles, playing cards with her grandchildren and she enjoyed cooking. She was a wonderful cook. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was a wonderful Homemaker and her beautiful smile and gentle spirit will be missed by all who knew her. Mary was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Mary joins her parents, her beloved husband of 51 years, Ronald R. Palmer and two brothers, Bobby and Jimmy Williams, in Heaven.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carla Rudd (Greg) of Clintonville, WV and Melissa Canterbury (Donald) of Warrenton, VA; five grandchildren, Ashley McGregor (Daniel), Christopher Canterbury (Katie), Deona Bednar (Michael), Ethan Canterbury, and Brittany Wheeler; seven great grandchildren, Madison, Dillon, Annabelle, Isaac, Juliet, Ashton, and Philip. Mary is also survived by her brother-in-laws and her sister-in-laws, David Palmer (Kathy) and Mike Palmer (Laurie). Several nieces and nephews also survive. Caregivers, Bonnie Harrah and Patricia Phelps and longtime family friend, Steve Humphries who graciously brought Mom her mail as well as other daily tasks after Ronnie's death.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2:00 at Keller Church Cemetery at Lowell, WV with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Greg Rudd, Donald Canterbury, Christopher Canterbury, Ethan Canterbury, Mike Palmer and David Palmer.
Mary's family would also like to acknowledge the exceptional care and devoted staff at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg. We are all forever grateful.
