Our dear Mother Mary Ann Wynes, sadly departed her loving family on July 26, 2024 at the age of 87, following a short illness.
Mary Ann was born in Talcott, WV to Robert "Bob" D. and Dora A. Gore on May 21, 1937.
Mary Ann attended Lincoln High School in Hinton WV. She married the late Sylvester C. Wynes Sr. and began a life-long career in Motherhood and Home Economics. Mary Ann had a beautiful smile, vibrant personality, and an optimistic disposition on life. She was kind, generous, and caring towards all those that she knew and encountered. She loved and enjoyed being involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, cooking, dancing, entertaining, gardening, traveling, and shopping. Mary Ann loved sharing her gift of preparing delicious meals. She is best known for her macaroni and cheese and pound cakes. Mary Ann leaves behind a legacy of kind heartedness, strength, and resiliency often exceeding what one might expect an 87-year-old to be able to do. She will be greatly missed by all. Knowing that she is in heaven with her Lord and Savior brings comfort.
Mary Ann is survived by her long-term Partner Markel Agee, of Talcott, WV, Daughter Sharon K. Haskins, of Beckley WV, Daughter Stephanie D. Wynes, of Talcott, WV, Son James K. Wynes of Winston-Salem NC, Son Anthony T. Wynes of Winston-Salem NC, Daughter, Lorie A. Wynes of Charleston, WV, Son Felix E. Wynes of Atlanta, GA, Daughter Katrina R. Wynes of Hinton, WV, Daughter Valerie J. Staunton of WV, Daughter/Son-in Law Kimberly and John Grace of Milton, WV. Grandchildren Milton and Shawn Haskins, Brittany "Miss B" Payne, Heather Ward, Lindsey, Mindy and Mackenzie Wynes, Justin and Jordan Hairston, Tyra Wynes, Brennah, Brennen, and Victoria Staunton, Julion and Kylan Grace, as well as a host of great grandchildren. Sister Joyce Mann of Talcott, WV and Brothers Curtis Gore of Hilldale WV, Gerald and Roger Gore of Springfield MA, Ronald Gore of Talcott, WV, Charles "Chubby" Gore of Talcott, WV, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by Parents Robert "Bob" D. and Dora A. Gore, Son Sylvester C. Wynes Jr. and Grandson James K. Wynes II, Brothers Maurice and Rudolph "Rudy" Gore, and Sister Carolyn Smith.
Services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Pivont Funeral Home located at 100 Park Ave., Hinton, WV with Bishop Fred T. Simms, DD of Heart of God Ministries officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am -12:00 pm. Homegoing Service from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Mary Ann's Estate in Talcott.
The family is inviting all who are able to join them in honoring and celebrating the life of their loving mother at The Magnolia Room located in Hinton, WV following the committal service.
