Obituary

Myla Kay Redden, 68 of Shady Spring, passed away Wednesday January 25, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital in Charleston surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 9, 1948 at Sandstone, she was the daughter of the late Alton Basil and Nancy Irene Lewis Bragg.

Ms. Redden was a 1966 graduate of Sandstone High School and attended Beckley College. She achieved the honor of being named to Who's Who in American Colleges. She retired from CSX Transportation Corporation, starting as a clerk in Hinton and finished her career as a yardmaster in Huntington. She was a member of Tilden Community Church on Sullivan Road in Beaver and enjoyed gardening, cooking and caning.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Rush and Rhett Bragg.

Survivors include a son, Larry Redden, II and wife Jamie of Shady Spring; three daughters, Lorrie Wolverton of Jacksonville, FL, and Aimee Redden and Linda Griffith both of Shady Spring; one brother, Alton B. "Dick" Bragg, Jr. of Sandstone; four sisters, Crystal Gowings of Lewisburg, Mary Bragg of Sandstone, Ona J. Reynolds of Covington, VA and Carol Bragg of North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Grace Wolverton, Katie Meyer, Dustin Redden, Matthew Redden, Corbin Dreyer, Aryanna Dreyer, Cody Redden and Isaiah Davis.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday January 29, 2017 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Gene Terry officiating. Burial will follow in the Bragg Cemetery near Sandstone. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Dustin and Matthew Redden, Isaiah Davis, Caleb Plummer, Glen Ward, Stewart Ward and Gary Bragg.
