Ned Preston Cochran, 90 of Jumping Branch, died at 12:30 a.m.Saturday December 10, 2016 at the VA Medical Center in Beckley following a long illness.

Born March 1, 1926 at Streeter, WV he was the son of the late Michael Edward and Ora Mills Cochran.

Mr. Cochran was a farmer all of his life and was the former owner of Colonial IGA at Jumping Branch. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. He loved farming and hunting as long as his health permitted and was a loving husband and father.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nedra Elaine Cochran and also by a sister, Blanche Wills.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Regina Meador Cochran. One son, Nathan Preston Cochran and wife Carol of Martinsburg, WV. Two grandsons, Michael and Jonathan Cochran. Two brothers, Hubert Cochran of Daniels, WV and Cecil Cochran of Roanoke, VA.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday December 13, 2016 at the Cochran Cemetery on Mt. View Road, Jumping Branch with Elder Tommy Pack officiating. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at the cemetery on Tuesday.
