Nelda Jean Duncan Zickafoose, 84 of Elton, passed away Monday March 16, 2020 at her home following a long illness.

Born August 26, 1935 in Rainelle, she was the daughter of the late Gordon S. and Velma Claire Skidmore Goddard.

Nelda was a graduate of Sandstone High School and was a retired cook for Summers County Schools. She was a member of Springdale Church of Christ and enjoyed cooking and jeep rides.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Billy Duncan and two brothers, Carrol and James Keith Goddard.

Survivors include her husband Lenzy Zickafoose; five sons, Stanley (Donna) Duncan of Hinton, Floyd (Brenda) Duncan of Meadow Bridge, William (Kathi) Duncan of Jumping Branch, Stephen (Mary Pat) of Hinton and Blaine Duncan of Belleville, WV; two step-children, Lana Smith of Randleman, NC and L.A. Zickafoose of Meadow Bridge; one brother, Kyle Goddard of Pikeville,KY; one sister, Nyla Godby of Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 19, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Evangelists Mark Mason and Walter Dekel officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery at Clintonville. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be; Chad Meador, Chuck Smith, Roger Fitzwater and Kyle Goddard.
