Nellie M. Burner, 74 of Vallejo, California died Tuesday May 16, 2017 at a Sacramento, California care home following a long illness.

Born January 24, 1943 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late George and Ruby Stevens Williams.

Nellie was raised in Creamery and attended Hinton High School and Greenville High School. She was a former factory worker in Connecticut and after moving to California, she worked for many years in the hospitality industry. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed working cross-word puzzles and watching TV.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Williams and two sisters, Ann Lee Bonner and Barbara Roach.

Survivors include a son, Mark Burner of Long Beach, CA; a daughter, Alicia Henne of Joliet, IL; three sisters, Joyce Coad and husband Doyle of Lennon, MI, Neta Wood and husband Charles of Virginia Beach, VA and Darlene Milam and husband Ronald of Alabama; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Williams of Norfolk, VA; two grandchildren and a very special cousin, Earl Vest of Hinton.

Per Nellie's request, the body has been cremated and a graveside committal service will be held in Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton in the fall.
