While resting peacefully in his beloved home,  surrounded by his loved ones, Noah "Bernard" Richmond, Sr. of Jumping Branch, went to be with the Lord November 23, 2022.

Born January 3, 1928 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Noah Reese and Gussie Gray Richmond.

A lifelong resident of Summers County, he was a graduate of Hinton High School and a proud United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Bernard retired from the C&O Railway Company with 41 years of service as a railway conductor. Throughout his life, he enjoyed farming and raised miniature horses, cows, chickens and goats. Bernard was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. In addition, he was a talented and accomplished woodworker. Bernard was also a member of Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Drema Rose; a son, Noah B. Richmond, Jr.; an infant grandson, Michael Shane Richmond; a granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Rose and three brothers, Robert, Denny and Jimmy Richmond.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Anita McCoy Richmond; one son, Keith Richmond and wife Susan of Jumping Branch; one daughter, Linda Sue Brumit (Jim Miller) of Palm Coast, FL; two step-sons, Anthony Bowling and wife Amber of Bluefield, VA and Brian Bowling (Shelby) of West Palm Beach, FL; two brothers, Paul Richmond and wife Hazel of Disputanta, VA and Glen Richmond and wife Barbara of Wilmington, NC; daughter in law, Phyllis Richmond of Jumping Branch; sisters-in-law, Rosie Richmond of Michigan and Annalee Richmond of Shady Spring, WV; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Zicafoose, Kelly Banton, Edward Rose, Shawn Richmond, Stephanie Boswell, Amanda Richmond-Johnson, Noah B. Richmond, III, Steven Brumit, Melanie Stewart, Nathan Richmond, MD and Lydia Richmond; fourteen great grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, Caynan, Annalyse and Natalie Bowling also survive. He also is separated from special friends, Zina Angell and Tom Conway.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday November 27, 2022 at Pivont Funeral Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Bill Fox and Chase Whitten officiating. Burial with military honors will be at Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Grandsons and family members will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
