Oliver Eugene Sears, 81 of Jumping Branch, passed away peacefully at his home following a long illness.
Oliver was born on September 7, 1944, in Hinton, the son of the late Oliver R. and Helen E. Richmond Sears.
Mr. Sears was a certified automotive mechanic and practiced his trade at several businesses. He took pride in his work and was always meticulous in everything he did. In addition, Oliver was a skilled woodworker and an expert craftsman and was willing to help anyone he could with the skills he possessed. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany. Most of all, he loved his family dearly and will be missed by every one of them.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Waltrud Elizabeth Baker Sears; one son, Oliver “Gene” Sears and one sister, Helen Montgomery.
Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Barbara Sears of Jumping Branch, WV and Christine Beatty of Georgia. One stepson, Thomas Baker of Germany. Grandchildren; Stephanie Sears, Gabriella Sears, Skyray Sears, Elizabeth Sears, Oliver Jenson Sears, Page White, Marisa White and Nikita White. Great grandchildren; Brittany and Matthew Beatty, Lilah Enzo Valanez, Ensley Valanez, Hayzen Oliver Sears, Aubrey Sears, and Lily, Nina and Ezrakai White. Honorary daughters, Kimberly Kramer and Melba Woods also survive.
Memorial graveside services will be held at Upland Cemetery near Hinton at a date to be announced soon.
