Mrs. Patria Irene (Reed) Ellison, 100, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
She was born in Judson, WV, March 10, 1920, the youngest of twelve children of Lewis Clark and Lida Hope Reed and lived most of her life in the Hinton area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemen G. Ellison in 1990.  For many years, she worked alongside Clem at Ellison's Grocery in Avis.  After the store closed in the early 70's, Patria worked for the Summers County Board of Education as a bus monitor and classroom aide.
Patria was an active member of Central Baptist Church in Hinton and attended as long as health allowed.  She loved gardening and growing flowers, especially roses, and was a long-time member of the Bluestone Lake Garden Club.
Patria is survived by her daughter Joyce Minnich and husband Tim of Roanoke VA, and their children Ellen, Susan, Anna, Daniel and John, her son David Ellison of Roanoke, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hilltop Cemetery, Hinton, WV, with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating.  The family will serve as Pallbearers.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, at Pivont Funeral Home, in Hinton, prior to the graveside service. CDC guidelines for social distancing will be adhered to at the visitation period.
