Patty Marie Farley was born December 20, 1942 in Hinton, WV to the late Billy and Faye Lowe Farley and departed peacefully to her Heavenly home on Saturday July 5, 2025.

Patty was a lifelong resident of Pipestem, WV. As a young girl she led her mother and father to Jesus by making her way to the "church in the curve". Patty was a graduate of Hinton High School and was an enthusiastic member of the marching band. Patty started her career for the Department of Natural Resources in Charleston, WV in 1967. She was quickly promoted from Clerk 1 to Clerk 5. At this time, a new state park was coming to her hometown and Patty was transferred back home and became the very first employee of Pipestem State Park in 1968 before it was opened to the public.

She spent 10 years working as Secretary to the Superintendent followed by 10 years as Recreation/Activities Director. When she left this position, they had to split it into 2 positions, recreation director and activities director. The last position she held at Pipestem State Park before retiring was as Purchasing Agent. She served for 32 years in the WV State Parks system. She then became a faithful caregiver to both her parents 17 years later.

She then embraced her greatest and most cherished position. Gran Patty was a devoted Christian, mentoring many throughout her years. She was a loyal and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, boss, co-worker and neighbor. She was always actively involved in church and with the community she loved. She was faithful and loving to her family and with a license plate to match (Gran 4), her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life. They were her faithful companions. She always supported her family no matter the circumstance, being there for all of them. She loved to read and in later years, when her eyesight started failing her great granddaughter would read to her which she loved. Patty loved walking, sitting in her yard and just simply spending time with all of her family. She was dedicated to any community project that was undertaken, particularly those involving her church. She could always be counted on and was willing to pitch in. She could regularly be seen working daily crossword puzzles on her famed Magnum P.I. clipboard, collecting teacups, rocks, vintage glass bottles, Elvis memorabilia along with lots of close friends. She never tired of learning about her personal history and heritage and understood the need to preserve it. Patty's love and attention extended to everyone she met. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren became the light of her existence in later years and she was never happier.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Faye Farley and a sister, Glenna Colanero.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Helen Ward and her favorite son-in-law, Mike of True, WV; five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Sue Phillips along with several nieces, nephews and cousins also surviving.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, July, 11, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Matthew Trail officiating.  Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm on Friday at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in the William-Farley cemetery at True.
