Peggy Lee Meador, 73 of Pipestem, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.
Born June 24, 1949 at Glen Jean, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Elsie Petro Parker of Glen Jean and the late Delbert Parker. She was a retired laundry supervisor at Pipestem State Park. Peggy was a member of the Painters Chapel United Methodist Church at Speedway, West Virginia, and was a graduate of Mount Hope high school. She loved canning, cooking for her family, loved to go to the beach, and enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Forsythe, a brother, Jessie Parker, and three infant triplets, Melvin, Marvin and Mervin.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband of 55 years, Samuel Meador; one son, Samuel Meador III and wife Susan of Richmond Hill, Georgia; two daughters, Anita Conerly and husband Robert of Richmond, Virginia, and Denise Meadows and husband Stacy of Athens, West Virginia; two brothers, Delbert Ray Parker of Glen Jean, and Neil Parker and wife Sharon of Troutsville, North Carolina; four sisters, Judy Mendenhall and husband J.R. of Franklinton, North Carolina, Janice Woodell of Beckley, West Virginia, Debra Kincaid of Pax, WV, and Goldie Ellis of Glen Jean; three grandchildren, Shanna Jordan and husband Payton of Greensboro, North Carolina, Sierra Meadows of Athens, West Virginia, and Zachary Meador of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one great grandson, Grady Jordan of Greensboro, North Carolina.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6 th at Pivont Funeral Chapel in Hinton, West Virginia. Pastor Randy Sargent will be officiating, and burial will follow at the Ellison Cemetery in Pipestem, West Virginia. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m until 2:00 p.m Tuesday, September 6 th , at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jim Hayhoe, Payton Jordan, Stacy Meadows, Robert Conerly, and Todd and Chad Meador.
