Ralph Haze Pettrey, 83 of Pipestem, died Tuesday June 15, 2021 at Rockin Chair Residential Care.

Born October 18, 1937 at Forest Hill, he was the son of the late Allen E. and Pearl Farley Pettrey.

Mr. Pettrey was retired from the Wildlife Division of the West Virginia DNR. He was a US Navy veteran and avid outdoorsman. He particularly loved hunting and fishing as long as health permitted.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine Meador Pettrey; one son, Ricky Pettrey; three sisters, including his twin, Ramona Priest, Marie Shanks and Betty Edwards; two brothers, Charles and Bobby Pettrey.

Survivors include two sons, Ralph Dean Pettrey and wife Ellen of White Oak and Ronnie Keith Pettrey of Talcott; one daughter, Robin Cook and husband David Thompson of Beaver; three grandchildren, Kevin and Kristen Cook and Colleen Pettrey; three great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday June 18, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. There will be no visitation. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rockin Chair for the care and love shown to Ralph while a resident.
