Ray D. Lowry, 84, of Pence Springs passed away Monday February 18, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.

Born October 11, 1934 at Talcott he was the son of the late Loyd P. and Lena Jones Lowry. He was a self-employed merchant having operated several business in the Talcott most of his life.  He was a former Summers County Constable and enjoyed being with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Pence Springs Community Church at Pence Springs.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Rayla Smith, grandson Tyler Richmond, two brothers Dean Lowry Sr. and Loyd O. Lowry, also by one sister Peggy Toth.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years Brenda Williams Lowry.  Two sons; Ray D. Lowry, Jr of Marion NC, and Loyd P. Lowry and wife Mandi of Hilldale.  Three daughters; Pamela Little of Georgia, Sunny Lowry and Christy Lowry both of Louisville, KY.. twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday February 21, 2019 at the Pence Springs Community Church with Pastor Roger Persinger officiating.

Friends may call at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday
