Ray K. Rudisill, 85, of Hilldale, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Main Street Care, Hinton, after a long illness.

He was born May 2, 1933, and was the son of the late Robert, Sr., and Elsie Mann Rudisill.  The Rudisills moved to Coal City, WV, May 2, 1943 and then moved to Wolf Creek, Monroe County, WV, in 1952.

Ray graduated from Stoco High School, Lego, WV in 1951.  While at Stoco, he was active in sports, earning letters in Football and Baseball. He was employed with the C & P Telephone Company, Beckley, WV and Hinton, WV and retired February 17, 1982, as a Service Tech.  He enjoyed grouse hunting, camping, riding ATVs, and going to football games.  He also enjoyed working on the small farm at Hilldale and home place at Wolf Creek.  He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Army, as a Staff Sergeant.

He was also an active member of the Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, at Hilldale for 50 plus years.  He gave his life to Christ Jesus, in September, 1961.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Marlene A. Jones Rudisill, a daughter, Lisa Rudisill, a son Verol Rudisill, three brothers, Bob Jr., Eugene, and Charles Rudisill, and three sisters, Carris Melchior, Norma Kowalski, and Verna Diaz.

Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Nolan Rudisill and wife Gloria of Hampton, Va, and an adopted son Donald Richmond of Hinton, and granddaughters, Amanda Rudisill, of Charleston, and Heather, Kayla and Jessica of Hilldale, and two gread grandchildren, Destiny and Harper. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Pivont Funeral Chapel in Hinton, with Pastor Eugene Fullen officiating.  This will be a joint service with his son, Verol Thomas Rudisill, who passed away also on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.  Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, at Forest Hill.  Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
