Rita Mae Plumley, 76, of Hinton, died Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at home, following a sudden illness.

Born, September 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John William and Hattie Ayers Adkins.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, in Hinton, and she enjoyed gardening. She retired from the Summers County Hospital, Dietary Department, with 47 years of service.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Curtis, Ralph, John Jr, Calvin, and Lloyd Adkins, and two sisters, Donna Berry, and Janelle Whitten.

Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Fred Plumley, and a brother, Estell Adkins, of Hinton.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017, at Pivont Funeral Chapel with Pastor Walter Dekle officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fox Cemetery, at Brooks.  Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until time of service on Friday, at the Pivont Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Church of Christ.
