The world lost a kind, generous, and bright soul when Robert Lee Grimmett, 58, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

Born in Hinton, West Virginia on June 27, 1968, Robert was the son of Wilma Hawks Grimmett and the late Cecil Grimmett. Known affectionately to many as Rob, he lived his life with a quiet strength and an infectious warmth.

Robert was a gifted handyman who could fix just about anything, but his true joy came from the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep, lifelong love for music and brought countless smiles to family gatherings with his unique ability to play the spoons. Robert also had a massive heart for children, always sharing his warmth, laughter, and playful spirit with the younger generations of his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia Ayers Grimmett; his father, Cecil Grimmett; and two brothers, Baxter and Lacy Grimmett.

His memory will be forever cherished by his surviving family, including his mother, Wilma Hawks Grimmett; his brothers, Kenneth Grimmett (Sara) of Pembrook, Virginia, and Charles Grimmett (Brandy) of Oak Hill, West Virginia; and his sisters, Vickie Gill (John) of Hilldale, West Virginia, and Nellie Ewing of Hinton, West Virginia. He also leaves behind a large, loving circle of extended family, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
