Robert Frank "Bob"
Honaker
Jan 17, 1935 — Jun 11, 2026
Twinsburg, OH
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Robert Frank Honaker of Twinsburg, OH, affectionately known as “Bob”, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on June 11, 2026, at the age of 91.
Born in Hinton, WV on January 17, 1935, he was the son of the late Frank R. and Mabel McGhee Honaker.
Being born and raised in the historic railroad town of Hinton, WV, Bob carried the resilient, hardworking, and warm spirit of Appalachia throughout his entire life. He built a distinguished career as an Operations Mangager for Container Corp. of America, where his leadership, steady hand, and operational expertise left a lasting impact on his colleagues and the industry.
Outside of work, his greatest joy was his family and friends, whom he loved deeply and unconditionally. He was a man of strong principles and was of the Baptist faith.
A true Mountaineer at heart, Bob lived for autumn Saturdays. As a passionate fan and dedicated season ticket holder, he spent years cheering on WVU Football at Mountaineer Field at Milan Puskar Stadium. His legacy of cheering on his favorite team, serving his community, and putting his loved ones first will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Marian L. Honaker; three sisters, Mary Honaker, Peggy Mase, and Dorothy Curry; brother-in-law, Thomas McClung; sister-in-law, Helen Elwell.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Phyllis McClung Honaker; son, Robert F. Honaker, Jr. and wife Robin of Twinsburg, OH; brother, David Honaker and wife Mary Ellen of Vero Beach, FL; sister, Betty Grimmett of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Patricia Ferber and husband Richard of Atlanta, GA; grandchild, Jacque Honaker.
