Obituary

Robert Douglas "Dink" Lane, 53 of Talcott went home to be with the Lord early in the morning on Monday July 11, 2016. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and uncle.

Born September 12, 1962 in Hinton, he was the son of Judy Craft Presley, Carol Presley and Sammy Lane. Robert was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Douglas and Opal Craft, father-in-law, Kenneth Friend, step father-in-law, Rick Wilkinson and aunt Lucy Plumley.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 35 years, Regina Friend Lane; His two children, Robert Lane, II and wife Haley of Hinton and Ashley Lane and companion James Fleshman of Wayside; His mother and step-father, Judy and Carol Presley of Talcott; father Sammy Lane; Mother-in-law, Delorce Wilkinson; He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Evan Lane, Benjamin Lane, Kenna Lane, Logan Lane, Olivia Lane, Aubrey Lane, Isiah Farmer and Addison Sampson; three brothers, Gregory Lane, Frank Lane and Jeff Lane; grandmother, Pauline Lane; aunts, Bonnie Hinton, Rhodetta Hinton and Alice Lane & husband Jerry and Caroline Jones; he also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends he loved dearly.

Robert was a 1980 graduate of Talcott High School where he excelled in sports. He was employed with Right of Way Clearing and Maintenance for 20 years and was known for his tree work. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and passed that love and talent on to his children and grandchildren. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and he attended every game and event he could. Robert was a kind man who never knew a stranger, who made everyone feel loved and like family. He was a great friend to many and will be missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 17, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Minister Gary Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Barton Cemetery on Barton's Ridge at Forest Hill. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
