Obituary

Robert Lee Miller, 97, of Hinton, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019.

Born October 19, 1921, in Hinton, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Delia Jane Meadows Miller.

Mr. Miller was a retired employee of Summers County Hospital.  He was an Army veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the 95th Infantry Division, and he was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and a Combat Infantry Badge.  He was recently awarded the French Legion of Merit.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, of Hinton.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara, son Gary, and grandson, Quentin G. Miller, and eight brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 73 years, Dorothy Ann Tipping Miller, two sons, Major Terry L. Miller and wife Nancy, and Robert W. Miller and wife Diana, and daughter-in-law, JoAnn Miller.  He also had eight grandchildren surviving, Justin Miller (Shelia), Jennifer Miller (Brian Hebebrand), Brian Miller (Nicole), Chris Miller, Hope Miller, Lilly Miesse, Taylor Finch. Five great grandchildren, Tyler Miller, Payton Miller, Jordan Miller, Aspen Finch and Jaxon Q. Miller, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Pivont Funeral Chapel, with Pastors Butch Honaker and Ronald Cobb officiating.  Burial will follow at the Greenbrier Burial Park.  Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the Funeral Home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
